Congratulations to Matthew Roberts from Pine Rivers Tri Club taking out a close victory, just seconds ahead of Dave Brown in today's Tre-X Cross Duathlon event.

There was some great competition with Matthew leading in from the first 6km trail run leg, and then Dave putting in a spectacular performance on the MTB to be first into T2 with Matthew and George Tamblyn hot on his heels. And after what was an incredibly tough event, it all came down to the final 3km run, with Matthew just pulling ahead of Dave to take the win.

With a lot of first timers there were some amazing performances in what was a tough days racing, but still great to see the mud covered smiles at the finish.

Tre-X Triathlon Qld Back 2 Back: 2nd & 3rd February, 2013

A huge congratulations to all those who challenged themselves at the Tre-X Back 2 Back. An outstanding effort by everyone taking part and a great spirit of comeraderie out on the course, with numerous reports of competitors stopping to assist other competitors with mechanicals and making sure eveyone was alright after a tumble. It's what the Tre-X Series is all about.

A huge congratultations to Brayden Tucker & Connie Silvestri, backing up their win on Saturday to take out the honours in the Male & Female Open Category. But pushing them all the way were Craig O'Connell in 2nd and George Tamblyn in 3rd with Nina Wright in 2nd and Britt Caling in 3rd in the female race, (both back from racing after making some beautiful additions to their families last year). These competitors are truly amazing.

And for us mere mortals, there were also some amazing perfomances in the age group, short course and junior categories.

But, I'm sure you all agree it was the Dirt Kids event wrapping up the weekend that really stole our hearts. It was so brilliant to see our young ones out on the 'Off Road' course having such a fun time.

Results are out now and even better, so are the photos from the team at Elements.

Thanks everyone for an awesome weekend and we'll see you all at the ALL NEW Australian Champs to find out who is Australia's OFFICIAL Cross Triathlon Champion!
