Providing the event is not full, entries will be accepted on the day.
On the day entries incur an additional $20 fee.  Cash only please

Can I wear a wetsuit?
The water temperature will be measured by officials from Triathlon Australia. If the water is 24 degrees or above then it will be a non-wetsuit swim. If the water temperature is below 24 degrees competitors will be given the option of wearing a wetsuit.  It is not compulsory to wear a wetsuit if the water temperature is below 24 degrees.

Do I need a Mountain bike?
You will require an off road bike as all the riding takes place on fire trails, dirt tracks and some single track that is all unsuitable for a standard road bike.

Do I have to wear clip in bike shoes?
You do not have to wear ‘clip in’ bike shoes.  Depending on your confidence and skill level on a mountain bike, ‘cages’ or standard flat pedals with running shoes are another options. These may also speed up your transition times from bike to run.

What is a wave start?
In order to avoid having every competitor entering the water at the same time, competitors are divided into “waves” to give you plenty of room to swim and enter transition smoothly. Waves will start at approximate 3 minute intervals. See the notice board at Race HQ for your wave start time.

Can I wear a hydration pack ?
Yes, hydration packs can be worn.

Is water provided on the course?
There will be a drinks station every 3 km on the run course and at the Finish area. Vompetitors are expected to be self sufficient for water on the bike leg.

There is NO OR LIMITED DRINKING WATER AT SOME EVENTS so you will need to bring enough water and drinks to last you before, during and after the race.

Can I carry a music device? (MP3, IPod, etc)
Competitors are not permitted to race with any music devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, earphones etc, as stated in Triathlon Australia's rules and regulations.  Competitors found with device such as these will be disqualified.  Ignorance is not an excuse.

What facilities are available at the event?

Facilities vary significantly between events, some event venues offer 5 star resort facilities with accommodation and camping on site while others are slightly more adventurous. Check the Facilities Link on the event page for full details

  • At some locations there is limited or no drinking water at Race HQ. For these events competitors are required to bring their own water for before, during and after the event.
  • Flush, Portable and bush toilets ar available at Race HQ.
  • A sausage sizzle will be provided. The BBQ will be provided free of charge for all competitors and volunteers. Friends & family can purchase a sausage sizzle.
  • The Jungle Beancoffee van will be on hand at all Queensland events for hot cofees, drinks and icy cold frappes..

What is provided for competitors?
All competitors will receive:
  • A computerised timing band;
  • A race number to be worn on the front of your torso for the run legs;
  • A bike number to be attached to the front handle bars or stem of your bike;
  • Some special giveaways from our sponsors;
  • Fruit and refreshments at the finish line; and
  • A BBQ voucher for a free sausage sizzle at the end of the event.

How do I become a Triathlon Australia member?
  • To become a member of Triathlon Australia visit their website at www.triathlon.org.au
  • By becoming a Triathlon Australia member you will become exempt from paying the one day license fee applicable to all Tre-X Off Road Triathlon Events.

What happens after the race finishes?
  • Celebrate how well you did!
  • Return you timing band.
  • Take your BBQ voucher to the catering tent to collect your free sausage sizzle.
  • Chill out and catch up with other competitors and share your war stories.
  • Complete a Tre-X feedback form to gain an extra entry into the random prize draw.
  • Stick around for the presentations and random prize draw and cheer on the winners.  Who knows, you might just take out a prize yourself!
  • At most events cars may not leave the car park area until all competitors have completed the mountain bike leg.

Do I have to stay for the presentations?
  • Staying for the presentations is not compulsory, however, it is a great way to finish the day and cheer on fellow competitors.  If you are unable to attend the presentation you will not be eligible for random draw prizes. 
  • Please be aware that for safety reasons, at most events cars may not leave the car park area until the transition area is open and all competitors have completed the mountain bike leg.

What if I’ve won a category prize or medal and I cannot stay for the presentations?
  • Only those at the presentations will be eligible for random draw prizes
  • Please be aware that at most events cars may not leave the car park area until all competitors have completed the mountain bike leg
  • If a prize winner is unable to stay for the Prize Giving Ceremony they may organise for their prize to be posted to them by contacting the team by email at info@in2adventure.com.au and sending a registered post bag (big enough for the prize) with postage paid to the address below. Prizes must be claimed within 4 weeks of the event.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

  • An event will only be cancelled if there is a risk to the safety of participants or the environment.
  • A decision on event cancellation may only be made on the evening before an event.
  • If an event is cancelled a notice will be posted on the NEWS PAGE of the Tre-X website.

What happens if an event is sold out?

  • Numbers are limited at each event for participant safety and environmental reasons.
  • When an event is sold out a notice will be posted on the NEWS PAGE of the Tre-X website.
  • No entries will be accepted after the capacity has been reached.
  • No 'On The Day' entries will be accepted when the event is full.
  • Where possible event organisers will make every effort to advise participants when entries are close to capacity via Tre-X newsletters and on the NEWS PAGE of the website, however entries may close without notice.
