The National Tre-X Series heads to Victoria at stunning Novotel Forest Resort in Creswick, just 75 mnutes north west of Melbourne. Compeitors can stay in 5 star luxury at the resort with specially discounted packages and then get ready for some kick ass action as long course contenders take on a 500m Swim, 23km XC MTB and 8km Trail Run.

The weekend also includes Trail Runs, Fun Runs and XC MTB events and the free Kids Mud Rats Races. By far the highight of the weekend is the Victorian Dirt Master and Dirt Mistress Championships where one male and female contender will take home the title of Dirt Master or Dirt Mistress Victoria in the ultimate off road endurance challenge. 9 Off Road Events - 2 Days of Hardcore Action!

Dirt Fest Victoria runs across two days and challenges competitors with a weekend of Hardcore Off Road Action. Featuring the Tre-X Off Road Triathlon Series and the Victorian Dirt Master and Dirt Mistress Championships the weekend offers no less than nine off road events with something for everyone from Hardcore athletes, Weekend Warriors to Mum, Dad & the Kids. The weekend includes:

Directions to Novotel Forest Resort

Swim Course

  • Long Course: 500m (1 x 500m lap)
  • Short Course: 350m (1 x 350m lap)
  • Teaser Course: 150m (1 x 150m lap)

The swim leg will take place at picturesque St Georges Lake. The lake is located approximately 3km from Novotel Forest Resort. Competitors have the option of joining the leisurely group ride from Novotel Forest Resort to St Georges Lake prior to the event, or, if you prefer you can make your own way there. Swim equipment (ie wetsuit, goggles, cap) can be left in the numbered bags provided in your race pack and these will be transported to and from Transition Area 1.

The swim leg will be a wet start from the picnic area at St Georges lake and competitors will complete an out and back course before returning to Transition Area 1 and departing on their mountain bikes.

Mountain Bike Course

  • Long Course: 23km (3km + 2.5 x 8km laps)
  • Short Course: 15km (3km + 1.5 x 8km laps)
  • Teaser Course: 3.5km (3km + 500m lap)
  • Dirt Kids Duathlon: 1.5km (1 x 1.5km lap)

The Mountain Bike Course has been custom built for the Dirt Fest Weekend. It consists of a 3km ride through the fire trails in beautiful Creswick Regional Park plus 2.5 or 1.5 laps of the 8km course within Novotel Forest Resort.

The mountain bike course within Novotel Forest Resort has been specifically designed and built for the Dirt Fest Weekend. The 8km Mtb lap is an action packed loop that dives in and out of short forest sections on the spectacular Novotel Golf Course.

New riders will enjoy the flowing nature of the course, while more the more experienced will love carving the berms. If you're not too tired to look, you'll also enjoy the panoramic views from many points along the course. The course is suitable for those new to mountain biking, but will also challenge those with advanced technical riding skills in a number of sections.

Trail Run Course

  • Long Course: 8km (2 x 4km laps)
  • Short Course: 4km (1 x 4km lap)
  • Teaser Course: 1 km (1 x 1km lap)
  • Dirt Kids Duathlon Course: 250m + 250m

The trail run is a 4km lap and takes compeitors off road an into beautiful Hancock Plantation. The course is undulating with a few hills and pinchy climbs before returning back to the resort. This is an Off-Road Trail Run so be prepared to get wet, muddy and dirty.

Transition Area 1 (Swim to Mountain Bike)

Transition Area 1 will be based at the picnic area St Georges Lake where competitors will transition from the Swim to the Mountain Bike.

The lake is located approximately 3km from Novotel Forest Resort. Competitors have the option of joining the leisurely group ride from Novotel Forest Resort to St Georges Lake prior to the event at 7:30am, or, if you prefer you can make your own way there. Swim equipment (ie wetsuit, goggles, cap) can be left in the numbered bags provided in your race pack and these will be transported to and from Transition Area 1.

TA 1 will be open from 7:15am to 8:30am for Mountain Bikes and MTB equipment to be placed in the Transition Area.

Transition Area 2 (Mountain Bike to Trail Run)

Transition Area 2 will be based near Race HQ on the Golf Course and is where competitors will transition from the Mountain Bike to the trail run..

TA 2 will be open from 6:30am to7:10am for Shoes and Trail Run equipment to be left. Equipment must be left at TA 2 prior to departing for the event start at St Georges Lake.

If you arrive at Transition at 7:10am you will not be permitted to enter. Anyone who has not placed their bike & equipment in the Transition Area by this time will not be able to take part in the event. This will be enforced as it is a Triathlon Australia safety and regulatory requirement that the Transition is free from competitors before the start of the event and all participants are required to attend the pre-race brief.

RACE BRIEFING

A Pre-race safety brief will be held at Race HQ prior to the event. It's important that all competitors attend this brief as it covers important information regarding the course and your safety on the course.

Other waves will commence at intervals after this time. Check at Race HQ for your wave, and your start time and please ensure you are at the start, ready to go when called. You don't want to miss your start and have to chase down the rest of the pack!

START

The swim leg will take place at St Georges Lake, which is approximately 3km from Race HQ. There will be a group ride prior to the event to ride from Novotel Forest Resort to Lake St George, or competitors can arrange their own transport to the event start.

The start will be a wet start from the banks of Lake St George. Line up where indicated when your wave is called and follow the instructions from the Start Marshal.
