NEW COURSE, HQ & TA FOR 2011

At In 2 Adventure we have a strong focus on the experience of each competitor and are keen to deliver events where everyone can have a great race and enjoy the event.

With Race 1 selling out last year and the Transition Area packed to capacity, and the bike course at saturation point it was time to make a few changes to the ever popular Qld Race 1 at Karingal Scout Camp. So, here's what's new this year... Click on the Links to find out more.

1. New Race HQ Location

Race HQ will be set up on an all new open grassy area at the eastern end of the dam, just opposite the dam wall. This means a much shorter walk from the car park and more room for spectators and competitors!

2. New Transition Area

The Transition Area will be set up just opposite Race HQ near the swim exit. This eliminates the 100m run from the swim exit to transition which was part of the previous course. It also means we can spread the bike racks out and ensure everyone has enough room to be safe and to move freely within the Transition Area.

3. Swim Course

The swim will now start from the dam wall and exit at the dam wall, directly opposite transition. We will also be providing a Swim Warm Up Pool at Race HQ (Off Road Style of course).

4. Mountain Bike Course

Last year at Qld Race 1 the bike course was reaching saturation point and we are focussed on ensuring that everyone can have an enjoyable ride and have the ability to race their own race and pass safely.

Long Course Competitors will now complete 2 x 7.5km laps instead of the old 3 x 5km laps. This will allow riders to spread out across the course and to take some of the traffic from the short course away from long course competitors. There are some great new single track sections which have been included for the long course and you can check them out at the course famil day.

To allow the flow of traffic to move more freely from the transition area the bike course will now run in an anti clockwise direction, which also works better for the new single tracks that will be introduced.

The big hill up to the office area has been removed and replaced with a new single track section that both short and long course riders can enjoy, however, before you start the celebrations, rest assured, there will be an equally testing hill climb in the new course :-)

5. Run Course

The run course will be similar to last year, however it will be a straight 3 laps for the long course and 2 laps for the short course, without the extra section to the finish, so it is much more straight forward. But rest assured we have not taken away any of the mud, water, hills, orbeautiful scenery that were a well loved part of the old course,

The Teaser course is a shortened version of the short course with a turn off on both the bike and run for these competitors.
