ABOUT THE TRE-X OFF ROAD DUATHLON SERIES

The Tre-X Duathlon Series is the natural progression from the Cross Triathlon Series. .

Like the Tre-X triathlon, the Tre-X Off Road Duathlon Series has all the thrills of 'Off Road' Racing, minus the swim leg.

A Tre-X Off Road Duathlon includes the disciplines of Trail Run - Mountain Bike - Trail Run. This makes it an ideal event to run throughout the winter period so competitors can continue to enjoy the Tre-X experience right throughout the year.

QORTS

The Queensland Off Road Triathlon Squad is the perfect way to get ready for the Tre-X Off Road Duathlon Series

About the Queensland Off Road Triathlon Squad

QORTS is Queensland's specialist "Off Road Squad", specialising in all things off road including Off Road Triathlon, Mountain Biking, Open Water Swimming and Trail Running.

If you're looking to bring yourself up to the next level with some consistent training for Tre-X and want to train with like minded athletes then train with Tre-X champ Connie Silvestri. Connie will help you improve performance and achieve your goals.

All levels are welcome to squad training. Whether you're training for the off road worlds or just wanting to finish your first Tre-X race. Sessions will be aimed at improving speed over Tre-X, hill climbing (the most essential skill), hill descending and increased endurance on the bike and run. Open water swim practice will also be a key part of our sessions.

The squad is really about training hard and having fun while doing the work with high team morale and motivation to achieve your goals. Connie will make you accountable and keep you focused on your goals.

About Connie

In 2 Adventure are proud to be supporting QORTS, and to be working with one of Australia's Off Road Champions. Connie has a long list of accolades and currently Connie is:

  • Leading the 2011/12 Tre-X Female Open Championships;
  • The reigning NSW Dirt Mistress Champion; and
  • The reigning LunarC 8hr XC MTB Enduro Open Female Champion

As well as her recent achievements, Connie has a strong background and many successes in sport, both on the road and off road including:

  • Track Running: Finishing 3rd in Australia in her first competitive sport - 800m Track Running
  • Triathlon: Representing Australia in Olympic Distance Triathlon at Lausanne, Switzerland and finishing 21st
  • Mountain Biking: Connie then fell into Mountain Biking where she discovered her true love (but don't tell her husband :-)). Connie has competed in many races finishing 1st in the 105km Epic, 1st in 8hr Lunar C, 1st Kooralbyn 80km Marathon, 1st 3+3hr, 2nd Qld state XC MTB.
  • X-Terra: Mountain biking led Connie into off road racing where she has competed in Tre-X and X-Terra races overseas. Connie finished 1st at X-Terra NZ, 2nd X-Terra Melbourne and 2nd and 3rd X-Terra worlds.

So, this is a great opportunity for members of the squad to train with a current champion in the sport.

And the Most Important Part

Not only is Connie a trememdous athlete, she is also a truly admirable representative for Off-Road Sport. In her own words Connie told us:

"The best part of this journey has been training with great friends and
meeting many more. Sharing personal experiences, racing together,
drinking and laughing at ourselves after racing.
Travelling to destinations you normally would never go to
and finding out dirty dam water is surprising nice to swim in.

But most of all setting a good example for my kids,
teaching them to embrace a healthy lifestyle and develop good self esteem
from gaining new skills and confidence in themselves."
